What Happened Last Night: Golden State Produces Out New York, Gonzaga Locks Up No. 1 Seed

Itas championship week in college basketball, which suggests numerous clubs youave dismissed for recent months will undoubtedly be playing interesting basketball games and perhaps inadvertently sneaking to the biggest dance of all dances. Oh and the NBAas still going on, also. Even though Carmelo Anthony came back to activity after missing three straight games as a result of leg injury, he wasnat the same person. Though none of the Knicks actually had any pep within their move, as Steph Curry lit them up again for 26 points, David Lee almost noted a with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists and the Warriors went away with this 1 92-63. But this wasnat an incident of the Warriors playing especially well; New York only couldnaput the ball in the bucket, only managing 35 first half details and 27.4% from the floor and 18.5% from heavy. J.R. Smith, who an average of loses his cool if the Knicks go down big, lost his cool once the Knicks went down big and was thrown in the third quarter for a rake across Harrison Barnesa face and neck. Carmelo Anthony, who had zero lift through the entire game, scored 14 points on 4-15 firing and obviously did not look the player heas been all time. But these are our Knicks this season, sometimes posting in a game title here or there for no imaginable reason. Come playoff time, weall see if it can be cleaned by them up. For Golden State, last nightas sport showed what they can be when their shots are falling a Klay Thompson and Steph Curry can seriously light it up when experiencing it, and last night was one of those activities. But Andrew Bogut however hasnat found his position within the fast-paced offense and seems to labor available. Given that heas missed all of the time because of damage, this isnat an enormous shock. Not that Gonzaga required it, but using their 65-51 conquer St. Maryas in the West Coast Conference Final, each of them but closed up a No. 1 seed for the NCAA Tournament and secured themselves a relaxing week off before points rev up after Selection Sunday. For St. Maryas, they are put by the loss straight on the bubble; even though they finished the year at 27-6, their vulnerable meeting coupled with an absence of quality non-conference victories might permit doubt to creep in and keep them out from the Tournament entirely. For what itas worth, though, it does appear to be theyall slip in. As for how theyall do once in the NCAA Tournament, thatas an entirely different story. We wouldnat put a lot of stock within their possibilities, but stranger things have happened. You remember it last year: old man river San Antonio reels off 10 right wins in the playoffs, including two against Oklahoma City. The collection seemed such as for instance a cover, perfectly fitting into the veterans-finally-have-their-cake local-boys-pay-their-dues account. However Game 3, and 4 and 5 and 6, Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrookas athleticism too overwhelming for San Antonio. Gears were seriously shifted by the series, and way was given by the Spursa passing to the Thunderas real speed and energy. Yesterday, none of that mattered; San Antonio had their way with OKC, and the way was led by Tiago Splitter (! ) with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Obviously itas difficult to place stock in a single, isolated normal time game, and that one was in San Antonio, but if thereas something yesterday evening proved, itas that the Spurs will continue to linger as not-so-fringe challengers and have equally as much an opportunity of coming to face Miami in the NBA Finals. Uh, I am talking about, the Eastern Conference champion.
