Stephen Curry Injury: Updates on Warriors Star's Foot

The headlines isn't best for Golden State Warriors' supporters after Stephen Curry left the courtroom in the fourth quarter contrary to the Washington Wizards on Saturday evening. Per Rusty Simmons at the San Francisco Chronicle: UPDATE: Sunday, March 24, 1:50 p.m. by Dan Talintyre Bay Area News Group'sAMarcus Thompson reports that Curry had X-rays on his foot and that the outcomes from that X-ray returned negative. ---End of update--- The injury was sustained by curry after trying to have past Wizards player Cartier Martin on a fast break, along with his adversary trying to wrap up Curry for the foul. His leg rolled included in thata'though maybe not the fault of the defendera'with no information yet known on how bad the injury is, or how long he'll be out for. The information comes as a blow for Warriors' fans, who have been witnessing an unbelievable night from Curry up until the damage occurred. The star guard had chalked up an incredible 35 points on 13-of-18 firing (including 6-of-10 from heavy) along with eight allows to provide his team a large gain. He was substituted down by Mark Jackson earlier in the day in the night after an extraordinary 29-minute stinta'a shift that some saw as Curry's final act of the night. Bay Area News Group's Marcus Thompson thought he thought Curry was done for the night, but following a stunning move by the Wizards, was forced to return into the game. Ultimately, that move would be one that Jackson would live to regret, as the injury was sustained by Curry only minutes later. And as though all of that was not bad enough already, Simmons then chimed in with the news that it was the best ankle that Curry had hurt formerly in his career. The Warriors are in a tight battle for a spot in the Western Conference, and will soon be greatly hampered because without their star player. Curry has averaged a remarkable 22.2 points, 6.6 helps, 4.0 rebounds and 1.6 steals in 2010, and has only been held to individual figures in scoring five times since the start of the season. Golden State have two days off before inviting the La Lakers to town on Monday night who, ironically enough, just got star guard Kobe Bryant right back from a foot spin. With the Lakers pushing for a place alongside the Warriors, Golden State will desperately be hoping that its star will also be back for that one.
