Ryback's True Position as Advancement Talent for John Cena

WWE is wanting very hard to develop the just heel Ryback as the best risk to John Cena and his WWE Championship reign. But whether itas actually achieving that is truly up for debate. After all, WWE may attempt to reach the areseta switch on Rybackas profession all it needs. But, the reality is that wrestling supporters donat forget, and all of us recall what Ryback hasa'or perhaps hasnata'done over a lot of the final year: Win: Just ask yourself when the last time Ryback won a pay-per-view match. Five weeks ago? Six months ago? ASeven weeks ago? Think about none of the above mentioned. In actuality, Ryback hasnat won a pay-per-view match since long ago in July 2012 when he beat Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks in a handicap match at Profit the Lender. Yes, itas actually been that longa'although WWE will normally never mention that. Fairly, WWE will try to produce us forget that Ryback is just a loser. WWE will try to make us forget he has lost big match after big match. WWE will endeavour to create us forget that heas repeatedly lost to men who're all lower on the company totem pole than Cena is. Thena'in correct WWE fashiona'the company will then attempt to move him off as a legitimate risk to Cenaas WWE Championship rule only month after he won the name. Iam not buying it. You shouldnat. Hell, no one should. While WWE could decide to try its hardest to create Ryback up in to Cenaas unstoppable and damaging No. 1 contender, we are able to all see Ryback for what he really is: an enhancement skill for aThe Champ.a As we all know, the aim of an aenhancement talenta in professional wrestling would be to make whoever heas experiencing look good. The term is equated by some fans with jobbing, but the way I look at it, an enhancement talent is anybody whose goal would be to do whatever it takes to seem better and make his opponent look. Finally, isnat that what goal Ryback is helping in his WWE Championship match against Cena at Extreme Rules? Certainly, in a far more logical world, Cena vs. Ryback would be a match or feud that's used to established Ryback as a top heel, help him regain his energy and give him his first world title leadership. Particularly when Cenaas involved, but reason could be trashed the window here. In a day and age where heel champions like Wade Barrett and Antonio Cesaro lost five times more frequently than they gain, that spells serious disaster for Ryback. He dropped a as a face (which will be uncommon for WWE), so can we really expect him to suddenly begin winning a as a top heel? Thatas the question we have to ask ourselves because its solution holds the key to Ryback vs. Cena. If you think the solution is, aYes, Ryback can now start winning as a then you should probably go look at WWEas current history so you can observe that top pumps have a really hard time winning continually, especially easily. If you think the answer is, aNo, Ryback can not gain continually as a top heel when he didnat achieve this as a face,a then you deserve a on the backa'you get the picture, and you know not to agree with the mirage that is Ryback as a legitimate opposition to Cena. You can find, obviously, people who can offer a true danger to Cenaas WWE concept reigna'Punk, Sheamus and perhaps even Orton to call a view. But Ryback? Ha! Until WWE does a whole 180 all of a, then thereas almost no reason we should watch Ryback as anything but a way to an end. You can bet on this: The conclusion of the history is Cena standing high as WWE Champion. Drake Ounce is aAWWEAFeatured Columnist for Bleacher Survey. Follow him onATwitter!

5 Hidden Advantages the Denver Nuggets Have in the Playoffs

The Denver Nuggets will be looking to build on this year's regular-season success, as the team will be heading into the NBA playoffs for its 10th consecutive year.

With a record of 50-24, the Nuggets are the current third seed in the Western Conference and have locked up a postseason berth with eight games still remaining on their schedule.

The Nuggets are a legitimate championship team and have proved throughout the year that they can dominate opponents in multiple aspects of the game.

While their rebounding, points in the paint and transition offense will all play a huge role come playoff time, the Nuggets' hidden advantages could put them over the top.

It's a proven fact that the Nuggets are one of the most explosive teams on offense, but what may be shocking is just how explosive they are.

Out of the 15 players listed on the Nuggets' roster, 13* of them have scored in double digits at least once this entire season. To add to this stat, 10** of these 13 players have posted totals of 19 or more points in at least one game. While one game is indeed a small sample size, this mentality and ability to score the basketball as a team should not be taken with a grain of salt.

The Nuggets and their management have assembled an offensive juggernaut that relies on scoring from a group of players rather than just a few. In any given game, Denver has the option of throwing different players out on the floor to either disrupt the opposition's game plan or counteract bad offensive performances.

With their arsenal of capable scorers, Denver will have the advantage of foiling their opposition's defensive strategies and will be a tough out for any team in this year's playoffs.

The Nuggets won't be the only team in this year's playoffs with three centers, but they will be the only squad with three seven footers.

Kosta Koufos (7'0"), JaVale McGee (7'0") and Timofey Mozgov (7'1") provide the Nuggets with a serious height advantage unmatched by most teams in the league. While Koufos and McGee have held down both the starter and reserve roles this season, Mozgov could serve as decent replacement or backup if either of the two is sidelined by injury or foul trouble.

In games where Mozgov has played 20 or more minutes in the past two seasons, the 7'1" center has put up respectable averages of 8.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 1.6 blocks. Mozgov is more than capable at the center position and is one of those players who can impact games by just taking up space.

Although it's unlikely that Mozgov will see meaningful minutes this postseason, having him stashed as a potential replacement is a huge advantage for the Nuggets.

If there is one thing more impressive than the Nuggets' overall record this season, it is their record against the 15 other playoff teams in the league.

In 38 games against postseason-bound teams this season, the Nuggets have gone a superb 26-12. Although Denver was unable to steal a game from the Miami Heat this year, the Nuggets were able to come away with at least one victory against the other 14 playoff-bound squads.

While the Nuggets did lose their season series against the Heat this season, they still have the opportunity of winning or tying the rest of their series matchups against playoff teams when they play the San Antonio Spurs* next week.

Though these wins against playoff-bound teams won't physically carry over into the postseason, they will provide the Nuggets with an advantage. As a young team at just an average age of 24.9 years old, the Nuggets will use this success over playoff teams this season as assurance in the year's postseason.

As if the Nuggets needed an extra advantage on an already stellar home court, they receive one in the form of altitude.

Known as the "Mile High" City, Denver sits (obviously) a mile above sea level, making it a nightmare for any road team looking for a victory. Through 36 games this season at the Pepsi Center, the Nuggets have been nearly invincible, as they have claimed 33 of the total games.

While altitude has been known to cause the athletes to tire out faster, it has only brought good things for the Nuggets. As an up-tempo team, the Nuggets have greatly benefited as they have been able to build up their conditioning levels in the thin air of Denver.

Although the Nuggets have failed to fully exploit this advantage on the road, going just 17-21, this advantage of training and playing in the lower oxygen levels of Denver cannot go unnoticed. With the weather being ideal for building up stamina and tough to adjust to for opponents, this hidden advantage of altitude will be huge in the postseason.

If there is one team that has proved time and time again that a superstar isn't needed to be successful, it's the Denver Nuggets.

Throughout the season, the Nuggets have displayed a "team first" kind of mentality on offense, as they currently rank third in the league in assists per game with 24.2. As a direct outcome of their willingness to share the rock, nine players on the Nuggets' roster have put up averages of eight or more points per game.

While an argument could be made that having a superstar is vital to close out tight games, another could argue that having multiple options to go to is more of an ideal situation.

The fact that the Nuggets don't have that one defined superstar to go to at the end of the games makes this squad that much more unpredictable. With more than a handful of capable scorers on their roster, the Nuggets are not a team that can be stopped by using one simple strategy.

Assuming that Ty Lawson is able to recover in time for the postseason, expect the opposition to have their hands full trying to halt the balanced attack of the Nuggets.

"The 1975 version was special because it was my first experience of a closing, but it was also very unusual [in that] we were enjoying Fulham where Bobby More was. He was known by me from his time as a new player at West Ham, and he was a legendary figure at the club. "To instantly have him playing for the opposition and rising against him was peculiar. We won 2-0, though, and the young lad Alan Taylor obtained several that and goals was perfect for him. "Five years later, after being directed, we were understandably the underdogs against Arsenal, but we scored in the initial half, and it was very uncommon for me toAbag a headera'everyone reminds me about strike, but many also make it clear a header was a genuine rarity for me. "It is 30 years on now, but not weekly goes by without some one speaking about it. "You simply do not realise, as a person, how large [these moments] are likely to maintain your lifetime therefore. "As a young player (and fan), [I saw] West Ham win the FA Cup in 1964, the Cup Winners' Cup in 1965 and then the England team beat West Germany 4-2 in the 1966 FIFA World Cup finala'I went along to the semifinal myself but couldn't get a solution for the showpiece event. "In the stadium's records there have been so many dramas, with Sunderland winning (1973), Wimbledon winning (1988) and Keith Houchen's winner for Coventry (1997) specifically standing out. The old Wembley located so many activities which were unforgettable, and I'm sure the newest Wembley will create its history with personal accessories ahead." The clear answer came quite easily to him, when asked to select his trueAfavouriteAmemory. "My favourite minute? There's a lot of fond memories, however it will have to be the header," Brooking said. "I had a very great game that evening, and I won, weApummeledAItaly, may have gained four five objectives to nil, but unfortunately we did not qualify due to goal big difference. "A lot of edges play their best teams, and when you finish your job, it's fantastic to appear back at ita'especially if you have gained something. "Managers, coaches and players all want to end [their careers] having gained anything, and you never know if or when you are likely to win a trophy. If you are a big team, you think it's going to be described as a regular event but even as we are learning nowa'in cases such as Manchester Uniteda'that it can be quite a while, and it's hurting them. Exclusive: B/R Speaks to Sir Trevor Brooking About Finest Wembley Memories

On Saturday, April 27, the city of London helped commemorate Wembley's 90th birthday, and Sir Trevor Brooking was on hand to help.

The event saw the FA Cup travel from the site of the first-ever final—The Kennington Oval—through London and and delivered to the state-of-the-art stadium ready for the showpiece on May 11.

Many who have graced the famous turf never forget their moment in the limelight, while those fans who are lucky enough to experience the atmosphere of a pivotal game or final will never forget their day out.

I caught up with Sir Trevor at the Oval, and he remarked upon some of his best memories as a player and fan of both England and West Ham at Wembley. You'd be hard pushed to find anyone who's had some many wonderful days in the stadium.

"I played in the 1975 and 1980 FA Cup finals, and to win both was fantastic, so I do have very fond memories indeed," Brooking said.

"The 1975 edition was special because it was my first experience of a cup final, but it was also quite weird [in that] we were playing Fulham where Bobby More was. I knew him from his time as a player at West Ham, and he was an iconic figure at the club.

"To suddenly have him playing for the opposition and going up against him was odd. We won 2-0, though, and the young lad Alan Taylor scored a couple of goals and that was great for him.

The old Wembley hosted so many games that were memorable, and I'm sure the new Wembley will create its own history with individual fixtures ahead."

"My favourite moment? There's a lot of fond memories, but it would have to be the header," Brooking said. "To score the winner in an FA Cup final is absolutely fantastic, and the other one that comes close is my first England goal when we beat Italy at Wembley, 2-0.

"I had a really good game that night, and I scored, we pummeled Italy, could have won four five goals to nil, but unfortunately we didn't qualify due to goal difference.

Working in a close capacity with the FA and with Wembley has helped Sir Trevor stay in touch with those memories on a weekly basis, and the former No. 10 protects the brand of the final by continuing to laud the magic of the cup.

"You fight the corner of the FA Cup, and sometimes it can be looked at as a less-significant trophy than it was in my generation, but I think it's coming back now," Brooking said.

"A lot of sides play their strongest teams, and when you finish your career, it's fantastic to look back at it—especially if you've won something.

Sir Trevor Brooking was speaking at the start of the FA Cup's incredible journey across London to its new home: Wembley Stadium.

UFC 159 Superlatives: Most readily useful and Worst from the Entire Fight Card

It is difficult to keep in mind a UFC battle card that experienced more in-fight incidents than UFC 159. The difficulties started on the original card, where Ovince St. Preux poked Gian Villante in a person's eye. Without offering Villante a moment to recoup, Kevin Mulhall curiously called an immediate stop to the battle, and St. Preux went away with a technical-decision success. In the last fight of the FX-televised prelims, Yancy Medeiros injured a hand and was made struggling to continue fighting. Consequently, Rustam Khabilov was given a technical-knockout gain. The co-main occasion almost managed to get the length without the concerns, but Alan Belcher found a finger in a person's eye with 29 seconds remaining in the session, and that generated another complex decision, which went in Michael Bisping's favor. Whilst the major event was done without the injury interruptions, Jon Jones did suffer an awful bottom injury during the battle and might now be put on the ledge for a substantial period of time to recoup.

8 Ways to Feel Better About Everything.

1. Perform random acts of kindness"The generous acts don't have to be random and they don't have to be a certain kind (e.g, anonymous or social or big, etc.)," Lyubomirsky told fellow happiness-expert Gretchen Rubin. "We have found that almost any types of acts of kindness boost happiness." Recent studies have corroborated the findings, she noted, with one showing that when 9- to 11-year old kids were asked to do good deeds for several weeks, they not only got happier, but became more popular with their peers.

2. Live in a home that's rented, not owned Lyubomirsky takes the American Dream to task, saying that renters are happier than owners. At least one study agrees, finding that "Homeowners are no happier than renters by any of the following definitions: life satisfaction, overall mood, overall feeling, general moment-to-moment emotions (i.e. affect) and affect at home but instead derive more pain from their house and home."

3. Count your blessingsLearning to practice gratefulness is particularly key to happiness, Lyubomirsky says. And there are many ways to do it: by keeping a gratitude journal, in which you ruminate on 2-3 things for which you're currently grateful, "from the mundane (your dryer is fixed, your flowers are finally in bloom, your husband remembered to stop by the store) to the magnificent (your child's first steps, the beauty of the sky at night)," she wrote in a recent blog post. Alternately, you can choose a fixed time that's set aside for thinking about your blessings, or when you can talk about what's good in your life with a gratitude partner, or even tell people directly that you're grateful for them or their actions. Writing one day, and then thinking or discussing the next, is a good way to keep your gratitude practice fresh, she notes.

4. Be thriftyMaterialism, overconsumption and overspending will ultimately get you down, Lyubomirsky hasnoted, reiterating the point by using age-old tropes (possessions break, while memories only get better) and quotes ("Our necessities are few, but our wants are endless"). "Promoting sustainable happiness means helping people transcend set points and setbacks to live more rewarding lives," she writes in one study. "Thrift can complement this endeavor by extending the meaning of sustainability, ensuring that the collective can flourish as well as the individual." In other words? Greed makes everyone sad.

5. Become a parentNo, it's not for everyone, and definitely not a quick or simple fix. But parents experience greater levels of happiness and meaning in life than people without children, according to research that Lyubomirsky led in 2012. "We are not saying that parenting makes people happy, but that parenthood is associated with happiness and meaning," she explained. "Contrary to repeated scholarly and media pronouncements, people may find solace that parenthood and child care may actually be linked to feelings of happiness and meaning in life."

6. Learn to savor positive experiences"The ability to savor the positive experiences in your life is one of the most important ingredients of happiness," according to Lyubomirsky. How to do it? Put together a small album with happy photos or mementos and carry it around with you. Try to be present and fully appreciate small, happy moments—from taking a shower to eating a meal. And tune in to natural joys, from the sound of a bird singing to the smell of fresh spring blossoms in the air.

7. Take baby steps toward life goalsMaking a list of your big goals in life, and taking baby steps toward them, is very happy-inducing. That's because a component of happiness is the sense that your life is good, "that you're progressing towards your goals in life," Lyubomirsky told Diane Rehm. This is a digestible way to make it possible.

8. Stay healthy and live long: Happiness peaks at age 65As she noted in her first book, a 22-year study of about 2,000 healthy veterans of World War II and the Korean War revealed that life satisfaction increased over the course of these men's lives, peaked at age 65, and didn't start significantly declining until age 75. Takeaway: Not happy at 30? Don't give up, and don't rush it. There's still time.

Birmingham United owners provide Sir Alex Ferguson the go-ahead to 'drive the... - Telegraph.co.uk

Having scored four goals during Borussia Dortmundas 4-1 Champions League semi-final victory against Real Madrid on Wednesday, Lewandowski has appeared together of the most sought after players in Europe, with Bayern Munich decided to sign the Polish forward. Unitedas interest goes to last summer, nevertheless, and the newly-crowned Premier League champions have already been made aware of the 24-year-oldas desire to move to Old Trafford, despite statements in Germany -- denied by Bayern -- that he's agreed to go on to the Allianz Arena. Even though he has just one-year remaining on his Dortmund contract, Lewandowskias heroics against Real are likely to have increased his worth, but Ferguson insists that the Glazers are motivated to bankroll his attempts to add the atwo playersa he believes are required to go United forward. "Having spoken with the Glazer family, I believe there's every intention of planning to kick on," Ferguson said. "I donat think we need a large rebuilding. I donat think we need to improve at all, only probably two participants. "It depends. We'd, If a player came along that we thought met our requirements drive the boat out and have the person in, irrespective of how many participants we have." UpdatedAApr 27, 2013 5:00 PM ET Borussia Dortmund warmed up for the next leg of the Champions League semifinal with Real Madrid on Tuesday with a win at Fortuna Dusseldorf. Changes were made 10 by coach Jurgen Klopp aside which had downed Real 4-1 last Wednesday, but the outcome was still the exact same, with Nuri Sahin and Jakub Blaszczykowski on target to almost secure them second position behind Bayern Munich and before Bayer Leverkusen. Fortuna pulled a goal right back through Adam Bodzek in the 88th moment, however it was too little too late as Norbert Meier's area end the weekend stage on details with 16th-place Augsburg, ahead of the relegation zone only on goal difference with three activities of the season to perform. Goalkeeper: Pepe Reina Laurence Griffiths/Getty Pictures Itas been a personally rewarding year for No. 2 owner Brad Jones, as heas lately said (viaAESPNFC), but with first-choice Pepe Reina fit again, there is no question that the Spanish custodian must make an immediate return to the Liverpool target. Right-Back: Glen Brown Clive Brunskill/Getty Pictures Having began the summer season remarkably, Glen Johnsonas type has soaked of late, and he is placed in several unconvincing shifts at right-back recentlya'he fought to support the Spurs attack and the Southampton counterattack in successive months. Against an Gabby Agbonlahor currently trying out a situation, Johnson will need to head his forward runs and hold his eyes on the equally pacy Agbonlahor, who'll be a crucial element of the Villa forward point. At the enthusiastic Villa Park and with a gain needed, maybe it'd be asking too much for a go back to the starting lineup for Andre Wisdom. Left-Back: Jose Enrique Alex Livesey/Getty Images Much debate have been attracted by jose Enrique as Liverpoolas left-back on whether he is one of many leagueas best full-backs or an overrated person. Aside from his polarizing shows and form, his major features are speed and physique in support, both of which will be required against Andreas Weimann, among the shock breakout stars of the time and Aston Villa goalscorers at Anfield in the opposite fitting in December. Recently related to Liverpool (viaAMetro), Weimann has become an audience favorite at Aston Villa due to his enthusiastic exhibits, canny goalscoring reaction and tremendous work rate, that have become essential in Villaas battle for Premier League survival, and he'll begin Sundayas match on the right-hand side, matching Christian Benteke in attack. Similar to Glen Johnson on the right, Enrique should keep his attentions on Weimannas in-field runs. Center-Back: Jamie Carragher Alex Livesey/Getty Photographs Jamie Carragheras go back to the initial team arrived as abruptly as Martin Skrtel was dropped, but Brendan Rodgers restored Skrtel to the starting lineup against Southampton and was immediately rewarded with a catastrophic defensive performance. Meaning Carragher must once more heed Liverpoolas marshal and call a nervy protection. Rebuilding Carragher also is sensible from a tactical point of view: The large range Liverpool followed at Anfield in December helped the Reds to dominate property but made the protection exceptionally available to a fast Villa counterattack, spearheaded by the imposingABenteke and supported by the keen Weimann. The back line have been seen by carragheras recent inclusion moved further back, perhaps in payment of his declining rate, but as this enables Carragher to make best utilization of his power and knowledge against a raw Benteke a result. It's exactly the sort of scenario that Carragher has faced over time. Center-Back: Daniel Agger Alex Livesey/Getty Photographs Seemingly in contrast to Rodgersa idea of prominent possession, Liverpool have introduced a dynamic hybrid for their play in recent weeks, diminishing in possession data but which makes it count by score goals. Itas maybe not been the most effective of times for Daniel Agger in terms of defensive performances, but his ball retention and passing from the support will be required against a Villa staff fighting against relegation. While Benteke destroyed the Liverpool defence in December, an risky threat is the aforementioned Weimann, who has created a practical habit of picking up locations inside a talent and the penalty area for reaching the back of the net. As Weimann walks infield and away from area manned by Jose Enrique and with Jamie Carragheras attentions possibly filled by Benteke, Agger will have to observe the runs of Villaas new Austrian babe. Defensive Midfielder: Lucas Clive Brunskill/Getty Photographs Just as Skrtelas return against Southampton ended in tragedy, Joe Allenas selection as opposed to Lucas in the center of the Liverpool midfield saw him replaced by Lucas himself after the first half, such was the non-impact that Allen had on the game. Not that Lucasa return immediately shored up the defence, however: The Saintsa third target, where Jay Rodriguez was allowed to run uncontrolled through the Liverpool half and to the box, was an obvious example of Lucasa failure to return to prime defensive kind as of yet. But Lucas is, at present, Liverpoolas just reasonable choice in the defensive midfield position, and ergo should be maintained at Villa, where he'll be asked to apply more of a presence defending against a hardworking midfield and attack. Main Midfielder: Steven Gerrard Jordan Regan/Getty Photos With eight and nine goals assists in the Premier League, Steven Gerrard has silenced those critics who have been rushing to name him as apast ita during the early months of the growing season. He has been revitalized in a greater playmaking part and will continue to drive and lead his team on by orchestrating the midfield. There is also the little issue of Gerrard having scored 10 ambitions against Aston Villa in his careera'and that is more than against any opposition in his Premier League profession (via the Mirror). Right Forward: Stewart Downing Mark Thompson/Getty Pictures Chances are, itas common knowledge that Stewart Downing has energized his Anfield job and has found a normal position on the proper side, which he made his or her own during his time at Aston Villa. Even only thinking about the tendency of sportsmen to report against their former clubs, Downing must play on Sunday. But with a newfound approaching expertise and defensive work price, Downing is our proven decision on the right against the threat of Gabby Agbonlahor on the Villa left. Left Forward: Jordan Henderson Alex Livesey/Getty Photos Itas been an excellent few weeks for Philippe Coutinho since joining Liverpool from Internazionale in the January transfer screen, but for Sunday place decided to keep him out in favor of the much-improving and ever-hardworking Jordan Henderson, who has commenced from a position in the approaching midfield this year. Rodgers lately gave Henderson a public boost by stating his faith in the former Sunderland possibility (via Liverpool Echo), and selecting him in such a critical game on Sunday can see his decision pay dividends. Just as we went for Downing to help Glen Johnson with Agbonlahoras counterattacking threat on the Liverpool right, we look to Henderson to add an additional existence in the midfield to stop Andreas Weimannas runs and goalscoring threat. We saw from the Southampton loss that having less actual existence and work pace in the Liverpool midfield was an important problem; reinstating a more aggressive and confident Henderson can help address this problem. Second Striker: Luis Suarez Alex Livesey/Getty Photos They say attack could be the first line of defence, and there is no better embodiment with this theory than Luis Suarez, who not merely does the rating part but also puts in a mean shift in the Liverpool forward line, pressurizing opposite defenders to good effect. In Daniel Sturridgeas absence from the first team because of injury, great form was shown by Suarez leading the line once more for the Reds, but he returns to another striker position in our array therefore Liverpool can start their attacks from the midfield area. A more conservative approach is perhaps indicated by downing and Hendersonas selections on the forward flanks to Villaas counterattacking game, but Suarezas profile nearer to the midfield will help Liverpoolas attack as much because it will their midfield. Striker: Daniel Sturridge Clive Brunskill/Getty Photographs Against Spurs and Southampton in successive weeks, the worse sides were perhaps shown by Daniel Sturridge to his game as he showed more selfishness than personal creativity, and more frustrating ultimate balls than brilliant details. None the less, the way by which he burst onto the Liverpool scene following his January exchange from Chelsea offers encouraging signs for among the most talented English forwards right now, and for this purpose alone Sturridge deserves a run of games as Liverpoolas beginning main striker. His fans, director and teammates will hope that a first international goal for England and the break of just under a couple of weeks will have released Sturridge back to his interesting pre-injury kind. If all goes well, Sturridgeas reputation alone will be sufficient to trouble a testy Villa straight back point, which will allow the Liverpool midfield certificate to put forward. RotoExperts: Is Tavon Austin Wes Welker 2.0?

Wes Welker is a huge unique skill in the NFL because he was brought in by the Brand New England Patriots. Heas gained over 1,100 receiving yards in every five of those seasons and recorded at the least 100 receptions in five of the past six seasons. Although Welker doesnat get elite size or strength, heas still an extremely effective recipient. Heas regularly a top-performing player in Fantasy Football, specially in PPR leagues. With Welkeras future as yet not known in New England, the NFL could possibly be ready for Welker 2.0. Enter West Virginiaas Tavon Austin, one of many signature playmakers in the 2013 NFL draft. Today weall breakdown just how specific an ability Austin is, and how they can assist you to get your Fantasy Football category in year one. Strengths The very first word that concerns mind with thinking about Austin is versatility. Heas not only going to make a direct effect as an extensive receiver; heall make plays from the backfield and on punt and kick returns. Defenses arenat likely to manage to hone in on one facet of Austinas sport since heall just figure out how to beat them an alternative way. Once Austin gets the ball in his hands, heas going to be among the people to prevent. Although he only stands 5a8a and 174 pounds, heas got elite speed and speed in the open field. He ran a high 4.34 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine and had a short taxi time of 4.01. Both of those numbers prove that Austin will regularly gain in the wild field against defenders. If defenses allow Austin to find yourself in place, the likelihood of him making a huge play is large. Heas got certain hands and seldom falls moves that he gets a hand on. Taking care of of Austin that will surprise people is his longevity. Seldom does he shy from contact and he's willing to do whatever it requires to grab the additional yards. Heas usually aggressive with the ball in his arms and hardly ever finds on a play herself losing meters. Overall, Austin will probably be considered a specific system in the right kind of crime. His usefulness and open-field skills is likely to make him one of the most productive and pleasant rookies to view throughout the 2013 year. Flaws Although Austin is an versatile player, as a wide receiver he'll be restricted to use as a slot receiver. He simply doesnat have the size or ability to break press coverage to play on the exterior. That isnat fundamentally a bad matter, but Austin wonat be your traditional NFL radio like Calvin Johnson or A.J. Green. Austinas total size can be going to cause some issues for groups. At only 5a8a, Austin doesnat have the frame to add much weight to his 174-pound human body. The big question will soon be if Austin can handle the physicality of the NFL. What will make or break Austinas profession is the first large strike he gets in the center of the subject. Thatas where clubs will want the ball to be got by him, but his capability to take a huge attack from Dashon Goldson or Kam Chancellor is just a huge question mark right now. 2013 Imagination Baseball Perspective Why is Austin such a powerful choice for Fantasy Football is the fact that clubs are going to would like to get him the ball as usually as possible. Thatall make him at the very top selection in PPR leagues as a rookie. Nevertheless, even yet in standard-scoring leagues, Austinas usefulness and big-play potential make him an excellent option. In the best bad program, it isnat crazy to think that Austin could cause all rookie devices in receptions and receiving yards. If Austin can find a handful to the end zone of as a rookie times, he could even become among the best Fantasy Football devices in the category. A distinctive and truly special skill like Austin must be described as a concern for your Fantasy Football lineup in 2013 and beyond. Images Via Getty

Southampton vs. West Bromwich Albion: Final score 0-3, Baggies crush woeful ... - SB Nation

Southampton have impressed at home in recent months, but they were no match for a West Bromwich Albion side in an attacking mood. The Saints went behind early, conceded once more in the second half and then went into meltdown mode, finishing the match with just nine players -- and a 3-0 loss.

The visitors began the match in explosive fashion, and although Artur Boruc put off conceding the opening goal for a few seconds when he denied Lukaku one-one-one, he couldn't keep out Marc-Antoine Fortune from the corner. Lukaku made up for his miss by winning a key header on the middle of the box, and the ball fell for Fortune to poke past the keeper at the third attempt, a desperate clearance attempt failing to convince referee Robert Madley that the shot hadn't crossed the line.

The rest of the half was one of missed Baggies chances. Although Southampton had their chances -- they nearly had an equaliser when Gareth McAuley met a free kick with a looping header that almost ended up as an own goal -- the hosts were very much on the back foot, and had real problems containing the attacking trio of Lukaku, Fortune and Shane Long.

Had the first of that troika in particular had his shooting boots on, the halftime score would have been very different. Lukaku was having his way with Saints' defence, but Boruc stonewalled him on two further great opportunities. They were good saves, but the striker's finishing was clearly off. He'd make up for it later.

Southampton were forced to push bodies forward in an attempt to close the gap, and that was just what West Brom wanted. The visitors were able to break into space, and this time Lukaku, picked out by Fortune, had no intention of allowing Boruc to deny him. The Belgian took a touch to round the stopper before finishing calmly into the empty net.

Then the match got a little bit absurd. Despite the goal, the second half had been pretty quiet, but Gaston Ramirez decided to liven things up by punching Shane Long in the face on the run. Fortune reacted with a shove on the the Southampton man, and both men ends up seeing red after an extended scuffle.

James Morrison should have extended West Brom's lead after Lukaku annihilated Nathaniel Clyne one on one and pulled it back for the midfielder, but a timely intervention turned a certain goal into a corner. Happily for the visitors, Long would make up for it shortly thereafter, nutmegging Boruc after being put through by Lukaku.

The action wasn't done, however -- Southampton would pick up another red card when Danny Fox went into Steven Reid with a two-footed challenge. It was an ugly end to an ugly match, but 3-0 was no more than either side deserved.

UPDATED: 17:31 EST, 27 April 2013 Manchester United will endeavour to exploit the bitter competition between German clubs Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund by making a A25million jump for Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski. Sir Alex Ferguson, who has trailed Lewandowski for 18 months, says he has new hope of getting the Poland forward, who scored four objectives against Real Madrid in the Champions League a week ago. United usually feared Lewandowski, who includes a year left on his deal, could wind up at Bayern and studies suggested he had signed a pre-contract agreement. Star man: Borussia Dortmung striker Robert Lewandowski (middle) is certainly one of Europe's best homes But, with the German groups each other in the Champions League final to be faced by hot favourites at Wembley after semi-final first knee wins over Barcelona and Madrid, their rivalry may prevent a move. Dortmund fans already are up in arms that midfielder Mario Gotze has decided to join Bayern in the summer after they met a A23m buy-out clause and there is disquiet among the club's hierarchy concerning the effect if Lewandowski uses. Ferguson strategies to exploit that to partner Lewandowski with Robin van Persie. He said: 'The Dortmund fans aren't planning to be happy by what's happened. I actually do not think the team can market Lewandowski to Bayern. I believe they will let his contract go out or sell him elsewhere. Man City 2 West Ham 1: Aguero and Yaya on target as Mancini's slickers get... - Daily Mail

UPDATED: 14:17 EST, 27 April 2013 Sergio Aguero and Yaya Toure lifted the post-title gloom for Manchester City with a couple of exceptional targets to defeat West Ham. Last season's fulfillment at Eastlands has been changed by the grim realisation that the red enemy from down the road are back their common position of champions. Boss Roberto Mancini has recently required that the summer move business shouldn't drag on like a year ago. Nevertheless the City chief demonstrably has plenty of quality at his disposal previously, and the pleasant attempts Aguero and Toure contribution to the entertainment underlined the very fact they remain a power. Up and running: Sergio Aguero given off a wonderful City move, pouncing onto David Silva's intricate pass to fireplace past Jussi Jaaskelainen Man City: Hart, Zabaleta, Kompany, Lescott, Clichy, Yaya Toure, Barry, Silva (Milner 78), Nasri (Kolo Toure 87), Tevez (Javi Garcia 83), Aguero. Subs perhaps not used: Pantilimon, Dzeko, Kolarov, Nastasic. Booked: Zabaleta. Goals: Aguero 28, Yaya Toure 83. West Ham: Jaaskelainen, O'Brien (Carlton Cole 80), Reid, Collins, Demel, O'Neil, Diame, Vaz Te (Collison 66), Nolan (Taylor 80), Jarvis, Carroll. Subs perhaps not used: Henderson, Noble, Pogatetz, Joe Cole. Booked: Carroll, Collison, O'Brien. Goal: Carroll 90. Referee: Howard Webb. Attendance: 47,189. Latest Premier League benefits, fixtures and table There was surprise post-script to your day however, with Joe Hart's mistake allowing Andy Carroll to net an injury-time consolation amid concerns the England keeper had suffered an Harm herself. Mancini implored his people not to Have a pity party for themselves in his programme notes, the increasing loss of their Name five games before the end of the summer season has to be considered a source of regret. The past month now, the Blues have already been the very best part in the Premier League. However their dominance has come way too late. Few groups are designed for the shift that brought their operator to Aguero. Yaya Toure first changed passes with Samir Nasri before the France midfielder enjoyed an elegant one-two with David Silva in the Hammers field. Nasri entered reduced to the near post, where Aguero made house his 15th goal of the season. It absolutely was brilliant stuff, if simple in its execution. But where was this form at Southampton, Sunderland, QPR or some of the different arbitrary sites where in actuality the Blues have surprisingly dropped precious points? Making fly: Yaya Toure readies to release his howitzer, offering Jaaskelainen no opportunity Initial League desk It was nearly made by them two nearly Straight away as Jussi Jaaskelainen failed to maintain Nasri's 20-yard strike and Pablo Zabaleta shut in. The Argentina star seems certain to be called in the PFA Premier League group of the year tomorrow and should have thought he would make the situation with a goal. Jaaskelainen redeemed himself though, turning away Zabaleta's shot from point blank range.Other than that, the first-half was a reasonably lacklustre affair. Applause for Marc-Vivien Foe, a respected figure at both clubs, who died ten years before, punctuated long periods of near silence. After three matches out returning with a injury, Silva did his best to induce City into life Establishing Aguero up with an opportunity he would ordinarily have hidden but instead scuffed in to the ground and onto an article. For their part, West Ham played just like a part whose go back to the very best flight has been consolidated by way of a protected mid-table finish. Tribute: Both sets of lovers paid their respects to Marc-Vivien Foe in the 23rd minute following Cameroonian's tragic death in 2003 Reflex save: Pablo Zabaleta forces Jaaskelainen into a fantastic close-range save yourself It did not stop Sam Allardyce blowing his top at the next established though when referee Howard Webb opted to not allow the Hammers to re-take a free-kick he seemed to be Blocking but the visitors got anyway, limited to Matt Jarvis to be Instantly flagged offside. Allardyce might have completed with his People featuring similar love and although they did reunite with a sense of function, it was City who nearly extended their lead in the beginning of The next time as Carlos Tevez's shot was blocked by Winston Reid. How did he miss? Samir Nasri can't think a gilt-edged chance was squandered by him to put City 2-0 up The ability have been supplied by An excellent piece of talent from Nasri, who like therefore many in blue, didn't reach the levels on a frequent basis in 2013. Silva is yet another, Aguero also. The Argentina forward set up compatriot Carlos Tevez by having an smart cut-back, only for Joey O'Brien's last-ditch tackle to refuse the hosts. Tevez turned provider for Nasri shortly a short while later, but with the goal gaping the person who left Arsenal Couple of years before and won a name at the first time of asking attempted to Push house or apartment with his right foot and missed the ball completely. On the touchline, Mancini's face was a picture as he slumped into his seat. On target: Andy Carroll fires an attempt on goal... But Joe Hart lets the ball slide under his body... And into the back of the net... Frustration looked to elation 10 minutes from time as Toure provided still another moment of magic, producing space for herself on the edge of the region before smacking a clinical Work to the top spot. In its own way, it was as great as City's operator. And City nearly included more gloss With their day when Aguero was inches away after turning home the free Basketball after Jaaskelainen had parried Zabaleta's picture. The past motion involved Hart although, who had gone down by having an injury several minutes early in the day and still Appeared to be irritated by it as he strangely helped Carroll's shot to Move through his feet.

And we've the opportunity to do that. aWe have four difficult types of games, theyare many different types of Difficulties, obviously. aWeave got Arsenal, who are pursuing the Champions League; Chelsea, who are Pursuing the Champions League... aEvery staff really wants to win their last home game and weave got Swansea in mine and then West Brom away a' and Iam certain theyall want to win their last home game. aBut the greatest problem is ourselves a' 96 things could be incredible and if we could do that, I donat know if that could actually be beaten.a Ferguson is naturally very pleased with his teamas achievement in winning the Group in such type. They currently stand 16 things before a City group who pipped them to the trophy in the final seconds of last time. He said: aIam pleased. I would simply take any time to that. aSometimes we have won it prior to the end of the growing season but the opposition is more severe now.a It was an amazing 13th Premier League title for the team in twenty years and they have never been outside the top three for the reason that time. Ferguson sets that right down to a in staff at the club. He said: shock never look straight back, we always look forward and weave got continuity of administration. Not only myself but my team a' and I do believe that absolutely helps. aWeave got a nucleus of people who've been at the club quite a long time. Using Apart Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand is ten years here now and Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra have now been here for several years. That has helped the continuity of an employee a' weare maybe not making changes every year.a Ferguson has also been able to simply take the weight of hope that surrounds United and translate it in to standard achievement on the field. He said: aIf you are planning to handle this team, there's a sacrifice you've to make along with your commitment to it and also there's a requirement to reside As much as. You have to gain on a regular basis. aThatas the only path you can fulfil the hope and avoid criticism. The hardest thing would be to carry on year after and take care of the degree of success year.a Struggles with Arsenal used to possess large bearings on the spot of the Initial League title. No actual more, with Arsenalas dreams now having dropped to Champions Category qualification. But, even without the added spice of Robin van Persie time for his former Membership for initially tomorrow, Fergie still feels there is an edge to their issues. He said: aI think thereas still a fight going on. aTheyare still playing as desirable baseball as everyone in this league.a Twitter @ncustisTheSun

Heaslip stars for Leinster - Irish Independent

Leinster dethroned defending Amlin Challenge Cup champions Biarritz to move within one win of their third European title in as many seasons.

Joe Schmidt's men ran out comfortable 44-16 winners at a sold-out RDS, where the province will host Stade Francais in the final on May 17.

Two tries from man-of-the-match Jamie Heaslip book-ended an evenly-balanced first half, with Leinster's precise passing and finishing being the difference at the break.

Dimitri Yachvili's third penalty in the 37th minute left Biarritz just 10-9 behind, only for Leinster to dazzle in the Dublin sunshine with two late tries.

Jonathan Sexton and Heaslip went over in a blockbusting three-minute burst, the former adding the conversions for a sudden 24-9 interval advantage.

The sin-binning of Takudzwa Ngwenya, early in the second period, was another blow for Biarritz, who will miss out on Heineken Cup rugby next year.

Isa Nacewa and Brian O'Driscoll added two more tries for the hosts, with Arnaud Heguy's consolation score reducing the margin to 28 points.

Players with Swagger: Who's Started Using It? Who perhaps not?

Swagger. We all need it, but we never really understand how to get it. When we do believe we know what it is, what is worse is, there is somebody who occurs that makes us look a little less cool than we are really. However in sports, having swag is totally different. It doesn't always suggest you're great at your sporta'though often it doesa'it just implies that you appeal to fans and media all the time. Since it often means a number of things, listed below are the athletes who do and do not have that sway.

Newcastle United Director Alan Pardew Requires Transparency After Luis... - Sky Tyne and Wear

Newcastle United employer Alan Pardew demands the Football Association should bring further understanding over disciplinary methods. Pardew made his comments after the FA's decision to hold Luis Suarez for 10 matches. Suarez was banned for biting Chelsea opponent Branislav Ivanovic and his suspension will be started by the Liverpool striker against Newcastle. The FA has been criticised for along the punishment, in light of your decision to provide smaller prohibitions for racial abuse. Pardew's remarks come months after Newcastle defense Massadio Haidara was carried off the message against Wigan Athletic after a from Callum Mcmanaman. McManaman escaped any sanction over his challenge on Haidara, who has since came back to action for Newcastle and in light of the bar handed out Suarez Pardew considers inconsistencey. Alan Pardew said: "There probably needs to be some kind of dialogue or process applied for us supervisors to know in which we stand with one of these disciplinary decisions and provide some clarity to it. "They have however to answer, the FA, why that was and probably that will be interesting for many Premier League supervisors to know just why it's 10 games. "It is difficult. It is an incident that everyone was shocked by and probably also Suarez shocked herself by doing it. "But demonstrably we do not want to see that kind of motion and you have got small children playing in the park. "Having mentioned that, we feel that some of the charges we have taken as of this soccer club are fair, nevertheless you do want to get a broad feel of exactly why these choices are made."

Nou Carr: Man United's "Barcelona standard" Michael Carrick is my Player of... - Mirror.co.uk

aHe is really a quality passer. He would be perfectly suitable for their game," says Arsenal boss on the eve of Gunners' battle with the brand new champions Arsene Wenger reckons Michael Carrick deserves to be Player of the Entire Year - and is adequate to perform for Barcelona. Collection boss Wenger says Carrick justifies the former hero of the Gunners - and nod over his Manchester United team-mate - Robin van Persie and joked Luis Suarez is no longer a competitor after his biting bust-up. In front of Carrick and the Reds' much-anticipated visit to the Emirates on Sunday, Wenger said: aI could pick Carrick, as Robin had it last year - give it to some one different. aHe is really a quality passer. He can play in Barcelona. He would be perfectly suitable for their sport. aHe has a smart person and a great vision and it is for what he has achieved in his entire career as well. aIt is this year or never for him - he is after they decrease and 32 years old. aI think Carrick is an under-rated player in England - sometimes not only must the goal-scorer be compensated but the real people in the heart of the game. aCarrick, for me personally, deserves it. aYou had, as people said, Suarez. But Suarez has bitten into his reward!a

Robin van Persie left London looking for championships and games. He returns to Emirates a person who found what he was trying to find as their glory tour is begun by Manchester United Sunday against the Gunners. The striker, who left in the summertime when United (27-3-4) made plans to replace archrivals Manchester City as winners, won a hat-trick as United closed the Premier League name on Monday evening, and the Gunners (18-9-7) are required to offer the visitors a guard of honour forward of Sunday's game. "Robin has been totally fantastic," said Manchester United defender Jonny Evans in front of the Arsenal game. "His work-rate and concluding potential are exceptional. He really wants to score goals and he is unhappy when he does not even though we have the points. "He was demonstrably a mature person and chief of Arsenal and very respectful guy - he's got a bit of an atmosphere about him and has settled in wonderfully. You are able to tell in addition he plays and his whole manner that he is really enjoying things here. He came here because of his regard for the philosophy of the team and it's paid down for him." Van Persie has 24 ambitions in 34 league matches and likely will finish atop that class since his closest competitor - Liverpool's Luis Suarez - is stopped for the remainder of the growing season Strategy still have plenty to fight for in the remaining four games of the growing season, with Chelsea and Tottenham warm on their heels in the race for Champions League certification. The Gunners have got just four points from their seven games against the leading clubs in 2013, but Wenger is considering Sunday's game as to be able to increase that record and boost the club's top-four chances. "I personally believe we've been remarkably consistent against the clubs who don't fight for the championship," Wenger noted in his pre-match press conference. "Last year we did well against prime clubs, but we have not this year. I thought it was a whole lot down to the truth we restored the staff and had a big not enough confidence for a while in the season. Today we've a great chance on Sunday to exhibit that we've made that step so let's go. "We have experienced a powerful work in our last ten games. We've a great degree of confidence, we've motivation. I'm confident we will do it." System have concerns over Mikel Arteta (ankle), while Ryo Miyaichi (ankle), Lukasz Fabianski (rib) and Abou Diaby (knee) are out. United have doubts over Nemanja Vidic (knock), Chris Smalling (knock), Ashley Young (ankle) and Paul Scholes (leg). The Gunners have gone a season-best six activities unbeaten and have lost just one of the final 12. Wenger's side have allowed just three objectives in these six games and have held back-to-back clean-sheets. United have won 12 of the 20 activities that have come after sealing group titles under Sir Alex Ferguson - dropping four and drawing four. Combined have 12 away victories - four a lot more than any club and two in short supply of the all-time club record. Van Persie obtained after just three full minutes in Manchester United's 2-1 win over Arsenal at Old Trafford earlier in the season. Ferguson's side have won seven of the last nine against Arsenal in all competitions, and three of their last four at the Emirates.

Borussia Dortmund's Success Provides Inspiration, Blueprint for Liverpool - Bleacher Report

When the full-time whistle sounded after a pulsating 94 minutes at Signal Iduna Park, Borussia Dortmund confirmed, with a masterful 4-1 home win over Real Madrid, that it's time for Germany to take top spot in the latest reshuffling of power in European football.

Dortmund's impressive victory, of course, came on the back of another fine German result, after FC Bayern Munich ruthlessly dispatched of recent powerhouses Barcelona in a 4-0 win at the Allianz Arena, making it a fine week for all those involved in German football.

A vindication, too, for the hard work that Germany has put into revamping its footballing structure, emphasizing youth development and keeping a firm eye on fiscal prudence.

And while Bayern are naturally the top dogs of German football—their Tuesday announcement of Mario Goetze's end-of-season move from Dortmund for a reported €48 million (ESPNFC) only served to highlight the differences even between the Bundesliga's two best standout teams—it is BVB's remarkable rise under Juergen Klopp that has attracted the dreamers.

A dream based on youth development, attractive attacking football helmed by an exciting young coach with a well-defined footballing philosophy.

The first sign of similarity and parallel between these two fine historical institutions and their respective approaches to football can be summed up in a Daily Mail report that linked Juergen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers with a move to Liverpool in the wake of Kenny Dalglish's departure at the end of last season.

Whether the report itself should be taken seriously or not is irrelevant; in hindsight, it is a rumor that perfectly encapsulates what the current Liverpool ownership wants to see at Anfield. Ultimately, they went for Rodgers, who made his name at Swansea City growing a similarly philosophy-backed football club into an established Premier League club.

It has to be said that in appointing Juergen Klopp in 2008, Dortmund were taking a risk. Klopp had presided over relegation with his only previous club, Mainz 05, and had failed to bring them back up to the Bundesliga at the first time of asking, so he resigned.

More often than not, such stories don't end in too successfully, much less a possible fairytale Champions League final appearance. But such was Klopp's impact—promoting young players such as Goetze and Nuri Sahin; making astute signings such as Robert Lewandowski and Shinji Kagawa (now at Manchester United); instilling a fluid attacking style based on high-tempo pressing and a high defensive line—that not only was his contract renewed just nine months into his new job, but he delivered two successive Bundesliga titles in his third and fourth seasons at the club.

The similarities between Juergen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers, besides that Klopp seems much more emotive, are uncanny at first glance: Both are indisputable football philosophers, with their ideas of attacking football very much at the forefront of their managerial approaches; both are astute man managers, able to get the best out of their players; both are young and ambitious with designs on building dynasties for their clubs.

And this season, with Rodgers giving his own Academy graduates a fair chance in the senior team—Andre Wisdom and Raheem Sterling were the main beneficiaries of this, establishing themselves as first-choice players for a few months—and with a semblance of attacking, high-tempo and pressing football taking shape at Anfield, one can forgive Liverpool fans for looking at Dortmund as a blueprint and an inspiration.

The clubs themselves do not enjoy nearly the financial muscle of a Bayern Munich or a Chelsea. They do not enjoy the pure money-making machinery of the club(s) above them. But Dortmund's sustained success over the past few seasons offers a valuable path for Liverpool, which, if they manage to take it successfully, might offer them a tantalizing route back to the top.

Make no mistake; Liverpool aren't nearly the finished article that Dortmund are or that Rodgers has at times said they're close to becoming. (B/R's Clark Whitney has written up an excellent analysis of Dortmund's tactics and player roles here.)

To consistently hold a productive high defensive line, like BVB have so successfully, the Liverpool backline has a glaring hole: the off-form Martin Skrtel and the retiring Jamie Carragher (who has pulled the entire line deeper due to his lack of pace).

To provide their defenders with a good outlet for possession retention, defensive cover and playmaking, the Reds midfield do not possess quality and technique like Dortmund do in Ilkay Gundogan and Sven Bender. Lucas' form since returning from injury has been alarmingly poor, while Joe Allen requires a significant hike in both confidence and impact if he is to become a mainstay of this Liverpool side.

The current BVB attacking machine is mature, well-drilled and threatening, with creativity, work rate, physicality and goalscoring abundant across the forward line. As Sterling matures and Daniel Sturridge grows into his role as lone striker, with Luis Suarez and Philippe Coutinho in menacing support, and the prospect of further strengthening still, the hope is that Anfield's version can become a similarly fearsome combination.

And that, as Borussia Dortmund has proved so emphatically, such an impressive rise is doable given the right factors and decisions.

Football will only benefit from a return to success from an erstwhile European powerhouse. Dortmund has more or less succeeded. With such an inspiring blueprint being turned into reality right in front of our eyes, Liverpool's only task now is to march on and keep believing.

Robert Abbandonato: Why Manchester United's crushing victory over Aston Villa... - WalesOnline

I know there's still the small matter of raising the Championship trophy after the game against Bolton this week-end and a final-dayA showdown with Hull. But, advertising and title already securely in the case, forgive me for already looking forward impatiently towards next time and what may be available for Malky Mackayas Cardiff City. As such, I watched Manchester Unitedas Premier League victory on Monday night with renewed interest, cheering on each of Robin vanA Persieas three goals against Aston Villa. Not because I wanted United to get the name, I will stress, more that I wanted to see Villa defeated and eventually directed. I should explain quickly here that I've absolutely nothing whatsoever against Aston Villa. Among my early football memories was of a, rampaging Andy Gray, detailed with mop of curly red hair, striking terror through weight defenders as he made his name in the game. What a centre-forward he was before the injury problem struck. I marvelled when Villa beat Bayern Munich in 1982 to get the European Cup, was delighted for Dean Saunders after he and Dalian Atkinson stunned Sir Alex Fergusonas double champions to help the Clarets raise the League Cup at Wembley in 1994. But this really is concerning the Bluebirds for me personally, perhaps not Aston Villa, and the fact remains I would rather Wigan keep their Premier League standing. Why? Since Cardiff would have a much better potential for finishing above them next year than they'd a Villa team who I expect you'll regroup and return a much stronger power, whether that take the Premier or the Championship. No-one really can predict what'll happen in 2013-14 until we all know who has authorized for whom through the summer move window. But already itas a reasonable guess to assume the department will pan out in to three split little leagues. You will see the usual suspects completing the most effective eight spots a Manchester United, Manchester City. Strategy, Chelsea, Tottenham, Everton and Liverpool. Then there will function as the next set of groups who wonat be powerful enough to challenge for Europe, but who will oftimes be too great to be drawn into a relegation fight. Newcastle and accommodation have tended to be the leaders in this second tier class, followed by Stoke, though for differing this time to reasons around they've each found themselves pulled down into trouble. Apartment and Newcastle, when they come through their current situation, can come back much more resilient next year. Therefore also, I assume, may Stoke, the trio probably joined by famous brands West Brom, West Ham and Fulham when it comes to mid-table protection. And then we have the ultimate batch of clubs, those who'll each kick-off the growing season hunting a specific points tally which will ensure they arenat directed and who will identify three others they may finish above. Malky Mackay is placed in the air by the jubilant Cardiff City participants Huw Evans Company In this type will undoubtedly be Wigan, as long as they, not Villa, find a way to keep their top-flight position in the coming months. You may also expect Norwich,A Swansea, Southampton, Sunderland and the marketed trio in the Championship to be in this combination, also. Including, of course, the Bluebirds. As if you, Iave heard the jokes that have been doing the rounds in recent days. aFootball commentators reckon Cardiff can last at least three seasons in the Premier League a' autumn, winter and spring!a Boom, growth. Rather funny, in a way. We do have to keep an expression of humour, I guess. Because you will see at the very least three groups they can end above however the Bluebirds can have the final laugh. Two of them will soon be their Championship colleagues who clinch marketing in the coming months. Hull, Watford, Bolton, Nottingham Forest, whoever. Cardiff have usurped every one of these year. They can do this again the next time out. My guess is Norwich will challenge poorly in 2013-14, while Southampton and Sunderland will still have plenty of work to do, regardless of the new manager impetus they have each just been handed. Swansea should be OK, because they have the outstanding leadership of Michael Laudrup and the goals of the outstanding Michu to fall back upon. Nevertheless they may lose skipper Ashley Williams to Liverpool come july 1st and the enormous impact the Wales leader has on the Swans, in terms of leadership and continuing superiority on the field of play, is likely to be noticed most when he has gone. We have observed with Newcastle this season what sort of ready side may struggle with the extra demands of the Europa League and that is something that may drag the Swans downwards next season. And then we have Wigan, where prior Swansea boss Roberto Martinez hasnat made the group effect expected. He has maintained the Latics in the top flight to date and, of course, splendidly got them to the FA Cup final. But there were some pundits who believed that Wigan would develop into a top-10 ensemble once Martinez introduced his own men and put his own stamp upon the staff. That doesnat seem like it'll happen, indicating Wigan seem likely definite relegation individuals. Cardiff fans should want them to win their battle against the decline inside their last five suits and hope that Norwich, presently ensconced in 13th location, arenat pulled into the bottom three. They are each clubs next season can be definitely targeted for a total of 12 points by the Bluebirds, edges Mackayas guys can definitely finish above. Anyone of Wigan, Villa, Newcastle, Stoke, Sunderland or Norwich might yet join Reading and QPR in shedding their top-flight status, as things stand. But when push involves shove, it'll probably come down to at least one of Wigan or Villa. Definitely Newcastle, their European rigours over and with the St Jamesa Park element and Papiss Cisseas objectives within their favor, have sufficient about them to make sure they're maybe not playing Championship soccer next period. Stoke had a huge win at QPR at the week-end that may give them an enormous fillip going forward. Paolo Di Canio has reinvigorated Sunderland. Norwich, for me personally, have probably hit above their weigh since increasing a couple of years back, but if they could secure one more win from their remaining four fits they must certanly be OK again. Meaning it boils down to a shoot-out between Villa and Wigan for the final relegation position. Apartment, in 17th, are three points ahead, but Wigan have a casino game in hand and a superior goal big difference. Martinezas team however have games against Spurs and Swansea at home and face West Brom and Arsenal absent. Apartment have Sunderland and Chelsea at home, and satisfy Norwich at Carrow Road. Then, on ab muscles last day of the summer season, Villa have to travel to the DW Stadium to get on Wigan. Talk about luck. As I say, I think that this is a small one-off season for a club of Villaas prominence and that under Paul Lambert they'll improve throughout the summer, refocus and have it right next time out. Nonetheless it could be too hard to prevent the slide within the next day or two. That will be great news for the newly-promoted Bluebirds, If so. Van Persie did them a favour on Monday evening. May Wigan on that tumultuous last day of the summer season?

Most Memorable Games from the NY Knicks' 2012-13 Season

While the New York Knicks are looking forward to Tuesday night's Game 2 against the Boston Celtics, I am looking back at the Knicks' terrific season in order to pick out the five most memorable games.

The Knicks ended up being on the losing end of some very spectacular games, and it would be disingenuous to exclude those just because New York didn't get the W.

Secondly, I'm only looking at the regular season. As of right now Game 1 against the Celtics is an obvious No. 1, but given that there is an inevitable Game 4 and possibly a Game 5 or 6 waiting for us, I'm not willing to let my piece become outdated within a week. Call it vanity if you like.

Thirdly, milestones count. Games with significance related to winning streaks or the return or loss of a marquee player received extra consideration. This list includes games that not only lingered in the minds of the fans for the exciting play but also for the transforming effects they had on the Knicks' season.

Borussia Dortmund 4 Real Madrid 1: match report - Telegraph.co.uk

Footballas coming home and it will be striding up Wembley Way wearing lederhosen and yellow-and-black shirts. German supporters, who appropriated Englandas preferred anthem at Euro 96, are going to London for the Champions League final on May possibly 25. The FAas 150th birthday cake will be of the Black Forest variety. An all-German final, with the possibility of the penalty shoot-out in record, is on the cards. Certainly, it promises to be one of many loudest finals actually with two impressive pieces of service. The football is going to be great, incisive and rapid with small simulator. Wembleyas in for a delicacy. It's difficult to predict a restoration by Barcelona or Real Madrid. The kings of El Clasico were both poor this week. No one expected the Spanish inhibition. Barcelona are but out from the Champions League, having been humiliated 4-0 by Bayern Munich. True may feel they can recover against Dortmund next week, overturning this difficult shortage, but few would wager against Robert Lewandowski scoring in the BernabAu. The Pole who cost Dortmund only A4amillion rightly said the news headlines for his four objectives here but he wasn't alone in punishing the Spaniards. Mario GAtze confirmed why Bayern have purchased him for A31amillion and perhaps there will be a ceremonial handing on the German live cable attacker at full-time at Wembley. Marco Reus was still another substance power, weaving past bemused Real players. Ilkay Gundogan and Sven Bender managed midfield, hustling the famous visitors. Gundogan was also outstanding, driving forward with the ball. The sadness is that JArgen Kloppas exceptional side are being circled by wealthier clubs, seeking to cherry-pick their finest players. Along with landing GAtze, Bayern are expected to try to make Lewandowski, probably next year. Also Klopp, as energetic as his group, will be coveted, even though he was insisted by him was going nowhere. Why leave Germany? The Bundesliga principles, OK? Manhunter Liga, and especially the Premier League, have been left in its electrical aftermath. Perfection football, quick passing and all-round exuberance are king. This impressive Champions League midweek made a Spanish complete of 1,352 moves tried and one goal as the Germans managed 934 goes and eight objectives. This can also be praised as a victory for all those who balance their books, who play fair with Financial Fair Play. Dortmundas beginning XI price A20amillion less to gather compared to the A50amillion Kaka, who began on the Actual counter. The wages of Dortmundas team wages really are a moderate a80amillion, an uplifting figure yet certainly making them susceptible to wealthy suitors. Whatever happens to Klopp and his players, they'll also have the memory of this night, the night when grand Madrid found town and were merely damaged, specially in the 2nd half. Cristiano Ronaldo registered his 50th Champions League target, but was usually subdued. Dortmund pressed also rapidly, counter-attacked too skillfully. Their people were hungrier, more intelligent. And their fans were totally amazing, full of relentless noise, the support coming from around barring the surprised Madrid section. Probably the Actual followers had also heard the whispers connecting Jose Mourinho with a move back again to Chelsea. Undoubtedly he is in for an actual inquisition following this capitulation. Dortmund only needed it more, specially Lewandowski. He could be playing in England today. Charlie Archibald claimed yesterday he presented Lewandowski, then playing at Lech Poznan, to Tottenham Hotspur. Throughout his Blackburn Rovers times, Sam Allardyce invited Lewandowski from Lech Poznan for a trial after being cited A4 million. Lewandowski then got stranded by that volcanic ash cloud, never came over and visited Dortmund. They got an earlier lead as Lewandowski reminded everybody else of his course after ten minutes. GAtze, getting little criticism from supporters he is planning to keep, broke down the left. Lewandowski was in the middle wrestling with Pepe, both keeping, both competing, but Dortmundas Noa9 was more gutsy. He managed to break away, stretching out his right shoe and turning GAtzeas mix past Diego LApez. Hours were deviated only briefly from the drama at the Allianz 24 by the script earlier in the day. Real rallied for some time. When Bender treated 35 yards out, Ronaldo organized himself, went in and made the free-kick speed at Roman Weidenfeller who fisted the ball out. Lewandowski was adding to his reputation and pricetag by the contact and change, one spin in midfield entirely deceiving Madrid. Then it was his compatriot, Jakub Blaszczykowski, spinning away from Fabio Coentrao, and increasing in to Realas package. He was chased by Gonzalo Higuain all the way, the striker just managing to dispossess him. Dortmundas marvellous fans then screamed for a punishment when RaphaAl Varane and Reus twisted nevertheless the Dutch referee, Bjorn Kuipers, effectively waved play on. As Dortmund people were diverted by their Charge appeals, Real broke. When Mats Hummelsa bad effect gifted Higuain the ball, the Argentine billed on, squaring the ball across to Ronaldo, who stroked Real level. Not for long. Dortmund complained at the break to Kuipers concerning the incident concerning Reus and Varane. They appeared for the 2nd half much more fired up. They just blew Real away making use of their speed of thought and movement and the strategy and nervelessness of these Noa9. Lewandowski terrorised Realas support. Just onside, he took Reusa baseball, nipped before Varane and drilled a shot to the web. His hat-trick goal was even better. He gathered a from Marcel Schmelzer, dragging the ball far from Alonso and Pepe, and driving it past LApez. Then, after Alonso fouled Reus in the region, Lewandowski thumped the charge home for his 29th purpose in 27 club games. At the last whistle, Lewandowski and the victorious people did a panel of honor, saluting their wonderful support, who will now definitely make their ideas for a call to London. Happy Wembley.
