Tampa Bay Believes The Asking Price For CB Revis Too High

The Bucs may move on to be able to trade for Darrelle Revis if the Jets continue to insist on three draft picks for the Pro Bowl cornerback, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports. The Jets allegedly have asked for the Bucsa 13th over all choose in the NFL draft April 25, along with alternatives in the third and fifth rounds. Itas unclear whether one, both or neither of those later selections can are available in 2014. Tampa Bay appears ready to deal its first-round pick in 2013 and asomething else,a however the Bucs believe they are the requirement at cornerback currently engaged in talks for Revis and the only real team with the salary limit room. The Bucs are $32.8-million beneath the salary cap, 2nd only to Cleveland ($33.6-million), but the Browns have not been associated with Revis. Tampa Bay was last in the category in pass defense and has a serious need at cornerback. The position was not addressed by them through free agency, looking simply to signal Eric Wright to a restructured 1-year contract. Veteran Ronde Barber has not decided whether to return for a 17th year. But the Bucs front office and coach Greg Schiano are in agreement that the Jetsa value is too high for Revis, especially due to having less suitors and the very fact he's coming off surgery to repair a torn ACL. While Revis was satisfied to begin running without reduction following a study of his knee in Ny Monday, it's not just a business that may be made on the clock. The Bucs would want several days to have Revisa injury examined. As well as the draft picks, the Bucs must certanly be willing to pay Revis about $15-million per year.
