Ryback's True Position as Advancement Talent for John Cena

WWE is wanting very hard to develop the just heel Ryback as the best risk to John Cena and his WWE Championship reign. But whether itas actually achieving that is truly up for debate. After all, WWE may attempt to reach the areseta switch on Rybackas profession all it needs. But, the reality is that wrestling supporters donat forget, and all of us recall what Ryback hasa'or perhaps hasnata'done over a lot of the final year: Win: Just ask yourself when the last time Ryback won a pay-per-view match. Five weeks ago? Six months ago? ASeven weeks ago? Think about none of the above mentioned. In actuality, Ryback hasnat won a pay-per-view match since long ago in July 2012 when he beat Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks in a handicap match at Profit the Lender. Yes, itas actually been that longa'although WWE will normally never mention that. Fairly, WWE will try to produce us forget that Ryback is just a loser. WWE will try to make us forget he has lost big match after big match. WWE will endeavour to create us forget that heas repeatedly lost to men who're all lower on the company totem pole than Cena is. Thena'in correct WWE fashiona'the company will then attempt to move him off as a legitimate risk to Cenaas WWE Championship rule only month after he won the name. Iam not buying it. You shouldnat. Hell, no one should. While WWE could decide to try its hardest to create Ryback up in to Cenaas unstoppable and damaging No. 1 contender, we are able to all see Ryback for what he really is: an enhancement skill for aThe Champ.a As we all know, the aim of an aenhancement talenta in professional wrestling would be to make whoever heas experiencing look good. The term is equated by some fans with jobbing, but the way I look at it, an enhancement talent is anybody whose goal would be to do whatever it takes to seem better and make his opponent look. Finally, isnat that what goal Ryback is helping in his WWE Championship match against Cena at Extreme Rules? Certainly, in a far more logical world, Cena vs. Ryback would be a match or feud that's used to established Ryback as a top heel, help him regain his energy and give him his first world title leadership. Particularly when Cenaas involved, but reason could be trashed the window here. In a day and age where heel champions like Wade Barrett and Antonio Cesaro lost five times more frequently than they gain, that spells serious disaster for Ryback. He dropped a as a face (which will be uncommon for WWE), so can we really expect him to suddenly begin winning a as a top heel? Thatas the question we have to ask ourselves because its solution holds the key to Ryback vs. Cena. If you think the solution is, aYes, Ryback can now start winning as a then you should probably go look at WWEas current history so you can observe that top pumps have a really hard time winning continually, especially easily. If you think the answer is, aNo, Ryback can not gain continually as a top heel when he didnat achieve this as a face,a then you deserve a on the backa'you get the picture, and you know not to agree with the mirage that is Ryback as a legitimate opposition to Cena. You can find, obviously, people who can offer a true danger to Cenaas WWE concept reigna'Punk, Sheamus and perhaps even Orton to call a view. But Ryback? Ha! Until WWE does a whole 180 all of a, then thereas almost no reason we should watch Ryback as anything but a way to an end. You can bet on this: The conclusion of the history is Cena standing high as WWE Champion. Drake Ounce is aAWWEAFeatured Columnist for Bleacher Survey. Follow him onATwitter!
