Random thoughts: 2013 Miami Masters.

-If you have ANY freaking semblance of a body part called a freaking spine - irrespective of where you are in the world - you need to freaking send an e-mail to CBS airing your utter disdain for the station to cut away from the decisive third set tie break of a thrilling final to put on some tame basketball freaking game. Talk about adding insult to injury.

And this BS that tennis is lucky to have a non-major on CBS is countered with WHO freaking wants it on CBS? YOU are the one looking for our dollars. WE didn't ask for it. Believe their contract with Miami is up at the end of this year. Don't you get the feeling that the Turkey Necks WILL continue with CBS despite this humiliation?

-Was this final just another message for Nadal that the coast is clear - on courts not called red? For a 25-year old to struggle so mightily against a 31-year old from a country that has never won a title here - forget about being down Championship point - says more about Murray as being a contender moving forward than it says about Ferrer or anything else.

Add this: Nadal destroyed Ferrer - on CLAY - just weeks ago in the finals @ Acapulco. Score? 6-0, 6-2. Match was over in mere 65 freaking minutes. That in Nadal language is about 45 minutes. This final lasted nearly three freaking hours - 2:45.

Haas and Ferrer may have opened up the door that should be water, air and every which-way-tight right about now, given the onslaught that appears near-inevitable - on clay - forget other surfaces.

-Don't you get the feeling that BOTH Federer and Ferrer may be at the precipice of a steep and fast ride down the slippery slope? Fast enough to squeeze out WTF? At 31, it's not easy to rebound, specially for Ferrer, considering how close he was. Federer is facing the double psychological whammy of no titles in four attempts coupled with ranking slide - a hit far harder to take at this age. And that's if the back is back to perfect.

-Did you notice Djokovic taking another hit where it counts the most: The ego? Weak ticket sales? Even though he is the undisputed No. 1, watching people opting to stay way JUST because Federer and Nadal were absent, cannot be too flattering, don't you think, specially when you are already endowed with a skin as thin as a razor.

-However, Djokovic's graciousness after losing to Haas reinforced his resolve to live up to the higher office he currently occupies - UNLIKE some two other clowns.
