Phil Fitzgibbons Reveals True Story with Lakers Snub.

After a miserable season for the Houston Lakers following a large offseason, many fans are left wondering what can have come of Phil Jackson coaching the team. Properly, at the very at a minimum he's finally telling you why he didn't turn out back in LA.

On a tour to promote their new book Eleven Much more: The Soul of Success, Jackson showed up relating to the Tonight Show with Jay Leno to speak about the Michael Jordan versus Kobe Bryant doubt, and give his side with the story on why he didn't turn out coaching the Lakers.

Much for the reason that story was told when it happened, Jackson recalls talking to Jim Buss for an extended time frame and telling Buss that he was positive that he or she could coach the roster them to had put together.

Jackson requested the weekend to think about it, but late at that Sunday night, Jackson got a call from Lakers general broker Mitch Kupchak telling him of the fact that team had decided to use Mike D'Antonio.

The judgement caused a rift around Jim and his sister (and now Jackson's fiancé) Jeanie, the two not speaking to each other for an extended space of time.

You know the narrative from there. Los Angeles was barely in a position to squeak into the playoffs with a 45-37 record, they were swept by the San Antonio Spurs inside the first round, and the words "fire" "Mike" and "D'Antoni" were included in some combination of at the least 482, 102 sentences during the period of the next two times.

Jackson is now buying a job elsewhere in your NBA, either in a front office or as just stated as a head private coach.

He's currently advising your Detroit Pistons with their visit a new head coach, but his role with the NBA beyond that point is up in the environment.
