Lance Palmer Is a Most Coveted Prospect designed for Either the UFC or Bellator.

Sometimes it's a word that refers to a young fighter for a gym where the coach just raves about this particular student as the next big thing. Maybe that's a newcomer in the UFC who originates out in their first fight and sets the world on fire with some debut performance.

For Puncture Palmer, he's heard the term prospect since before he started high school, and the label has never fallen off him.

A wrestling prodigy since he was a young child, Palmer has never recognised life without cameras within his face or stories being discussed him for one reason or another.

A four-time state secondary school wrestling champion in Kentkucky, Palmer even had some documentary filmed about him titled Pinned, which chronicled the hard struggles wrestlers endure even at that young of an age.

Palmer then moved for the Ohio State University when he became a four-time All-American, your rare feat indeed, and again the pressure amped high on him every day this individual stepped on campus together with put his singlet at before hitting the rugs.

Now fully transitioned for MMA, Palmer is 5-0 being a professional fighter working out of Team Alpha Male within Sacramento. Palmer is at this point training alongside proven veterans prefer Urijah Faber, Chad Mendes along with Joseph Benavidez, and the term "prospect" has landed squarely on his shoulders just as before.

"It's cool to be regarded as a top prospect or simply whatever, but to me it's about addressing that next level, inches Palmer told MMA's Wonderful Debate Radio earlier this week. "I mean you will be a top prospect whilst still being not make any money and still be struggling. It are going to be nice once I arrive at that next level and get to a point where I often support myself financially because of this. It's good to have that amount of notoriety with being a prospect and folks know who I am a small amount. "

Palmer will compete with Showdown Fights on Weekend night in Utah before moving forward to to a title struggle on June 21 for Resurrection Fighting Alliance. If both fights result in victory and thus move his record to a perfect 7-0, it's likely Palmer will immediately start fielding calls from promotions much like the UFC and Bellator.

"I've kind of always thought of the next level and the next measure up of where I have to go, and what I have to do, " Palmer said. "At this point it's about winning these fights dominantly and just progressing myself as some sort of fighter. If I get given to Bellator or the UFC I have to be ready. I want to be in there and go strait into the mix. I want to be ready when I reach one's destination.

"If I go to choose from with that mentality inside these next couple spats, then these guys will not be able to come near me. That's the objective, and I think that's the purpose of everyone to get compared to that level, and I sense that I'm getting there. inch

Expectation can be challenging in MMA because just as much as it can build a good fighter up, it can simply as easily tear them down once they don't succeed. Palmer isn't worried about having too much expectation heaped on him because no one can ask him to do greater than what he already is attempting of himself.

"For me it's nothing of pressure, it's what many experts have my entire life. Most people expect me to earn, I expect to gain dominantly, " Palmer claimed. "I always put more pressure on myself as opposed to anybody else can. Naturally, it comes down to going there and having fun and perform inside my best. If I enjoy the fun and perform my best, no one's going to beat me. "

Palmer's philosophy and subconscious makeup have served him well for being an athlete since well in advance of he was old adequate to even drive a car. If he can maintain that same level of stability and continue to physically best his opponents, Palmer will probably find his name for the UFC contract sometime come july 1st.

Then the pressure and expectations to be a top prospect inside the UFC start from the start for Palmer, and he wouldn't obtain it any other way.
