Martin Skrtel asserts he's more than happy with Liverpool, but admits his current situation isn't 'ideal.' For the first time in his Anfield profession, the Slovak has found himself directed to the bench under Brendan Rodgers in recent months. Skrtel is currently sidelined with a leg damage, but he does not seem confident of regaining his position. "I need to wait, what else may I do?" Denik Sport was told by him. "When I was healthy, I was giving 100 percent, training with the staff and doing all I could to persuade the coach that I belonged in the XI. I was waiting for a chance, one then came in St Petersburg, but then I was not playing again. But, now I'm wounded and we'll see what happens when I'm back healthy. "I have encounter such views where you've been on the bench in four to five features that it'd perhaps not be proper to take into account making a team. On the other hand, it is hard to put up with it."Martin SkrtelQuotes of the week"It is hard to tell, but I would say it would not (change). The coach has his some ideas concerning the line-up and the problem is if I'd be in it if I was healthy. I would say it is likelier I would not. The most crucial thing for me personally would be to recover when possible and resume training." Despite signing a fresh long-term option late a year ago, Skrtel has been linked with a move, including possibly back to Russia with former membership Zenit St Petersburg and Anzhi Makhachkala described as lovers. "It would be useless to think about an exchange through the year even if it is true that you can move to Russia till the end of February," he explained. "I have run into such views where you have been on the table in four to five fixtures that it would perhaps not be right to take into account making a team. On another hand, it is difficult to put up with it. For three years at Liverpool I was playing in virtually every match and even yet in the national staff I have played a lot of games. I've had various ideas but truly I am maybe not going to make any hot-blooded decision. "I continue this - I do want to be fit when possible and fight for the place in the starting line-up. "If the coach must lose interest in keeping me in his team, then we'd need certainly to handle it with my adviser. For the current it is appropriate that I am at Liverpool where I've a long-term contract and I am not contemplating leaving." Skrtel's issues with Rodgers first came to light after their defeat to Manchester United earlier in the day this season. "It all happened after our match with Manchester United in the middle of January. Before that match we had won twice 3-0 in the group - at QPR and at home we defeat Sunderland," he said. "I am not the kind of player who would be chasing the instructor and take his company on a regular basis, seeking main reasons why I'm not playing. I have never done this, I am maybe not doing it now and I never can be."Martin Skrtel "In Manchester we lost 2-1 but I do believe that specially in the 2nd half we played perfectly. Moreover, plenty of places gave me a great rating. But he [Rodgers] explained we had lost the organisation of play in the defensive line and this would be the reason I would not play in the next suits. "I do not know which features he talked about because a clean sheet had been kept by us twice in a row and won both matches. Also, we did not fail in the game against United. "He [Rodgers] decides the line-up and picks participants who'll be on the message. At the moment I am perhaps not one of the primary 11. It generates me sad but the instructor has decided such as this and I've to respect it." Asked if Rodgers and he had discussed his axing from the medial side, he said: "Yes, we've but it isn't great. He told me something with this, gave me some reason, but it's hard to tell if it was the true explanation I was given by him. "I don't think it was and think there's something else behind it. "Anyway, I'm not the type of person who would be pursuing the coach and maintain his company all the time, asking for explanations why I am not playing. I've never done this, I am maybe not doing it now and I never will soon be. If the instructor really wants to tell me something, he will call me. "I wouldn't prefer to make any unnecessary conflicts since the thing that's above all is accomplishment for Liverpool as a team and I will help them even when I am on the bench or in the stands."
