Ex-Fulham, Hibernian striker Lehmann delighted to see McFadden straight back at... - Tribalfootball.com

Dirk Lehmann admits it is good to see James McFadden back at Motherwell following the pair enjoyed together back in 2002. The 41-year previous German striker, who also spent time with Fulham, Hibernian and Brighton & Hove Albion throughout his career, was fascinated by McFadden a decade ago and is pleased to see him back at Fir Park after finding himself in limbo after periods with Everton, Birmingham City and Sunderland. aMy couple of years at Motherwell was an excellent time in my life,a Lehmann told SunSport. aThe club went in to government but I resolved a deal to stay and a lot of young players came through. aJames was one of those. He was part of a truly young group a' aside from me! aHe had only a little ponytail, then a red streak in his hair down the road. I'd my earrings - which I used then and which I wear today. So we got on great! aHe was an excellent skill a' I recall us beating Celtic and Rangers inside a month or two of one another in 2002. aJames scored in both games and when we played Celtic he destroyed them. aI remember Celtic specifically. They had really strong players like John Hartson, Chris Sutton and Henrik Larsson but they are still beaten by our kids. Shock counter-attacked wonderfully and it had been a great victory. We were a great relationship. aI watched as James made the discovery in to the Scotland team and was delighted when he eventually signed for Sunderland in the Premier group. aIt hasnat worked in England so perhaps it'll be best for him to return home and get his goalscoring power and confidence straight back. aIt was the club where he was happiest so perhaps he could recapture a number of that.a The overall game is about ideas.
